Last December, Shein sued Temu for allegedly mobilizing social media influencers to disparage Shein online. Temu’s latest complaint revealed that Shie imposed hefty punitive fees to prevent apparel makers from cooperating with Temu. Originating in China, these two online fast fashion giants made their names overseas by selling ultra-cheap clothes. What the new litigation reveals is the increasingly competitive environment in the fast fashion industry.
